Exciting changes are underway at Humber Dock Street as part of ongoing public realm improvements. Here's a look at the latest progress:

South End of Humber Dock Street

Paving works at the southern end are now complete, including the installation of feature wall paving that highlights the historic location of the old city wall. While the surface may appear dusty, this is simply residue from the works and will be thoroughly cleaned upon completion. The area is already beginning to open up, offering a glimpse of the improved streetscape.

Refurbished Lighting Columns

The distinctive sail-shaped lighting masts have been carefully removed, refurbished, repainted, and reinstalled. These will soon be fitted with brand-new light fixtures, enhancing both the aesthetics and functionality of the space.

New Play Area

Opposite the Humber Dock pub, a new play area is currently under construction. Timber walking beams, stepping stones, and covered talking tubes are already in place. Additional features including boulders, a stroking stone, and other play elements will be added soon. The area will also benefit from new extruded walls, tree planting, and soft landscaping, creating a welcoming and engaging space for families and visitors.

Completion Timeline

The project is progressing well and remains on track for completion in spring 2026. We appreciate your patience and support as we continue to enhance this vibrant part of the city.
