Works to lay new high quality granite paving have commenced around the inner circle of the Rose Bowl.

The new paving is being laid using a high strength bedding mortar, and utilises the original concrete base which was below the original clay block paving.

The granite blocks are 100x100mm in size to match the block paving within the area of the fountains in Queen Victoria Square. Each block is individually laid by hand in a radial pattern determined by the existing Rose Bowl planter walls that have now been restored.

These paving works are expected to take between three and four weeks to complete.

The original crazy paving around the Rose Bowl has been re-laid. The precise layout of each path was recorded using drone photography prior to commencing works.

The photography recorded the exact pattern of the original paths, which allowed the contractors to ensure that once lifted and cleaned, each path was accurately reinstated precisely in accordance with the original layout.
