To ensure our maritime treasures are in the very best condition for display in the refurbished museum, each object undergoes careful conservation treatment by our specialist conservator.

Every conservation process is fully documented in a detailed treatment report. This includes photographs taken before, during and after treatment, along with a record of the work carried out, the techniques used, and the materials applied. All reports are added to our collections database, creating a permanent record of care and preservation.

Once conservation work is complete, the object is safely returned to storage, where it remains protected until it is ready to be displayed and enjoyed by visitors.
