A collection of poems inspired by the collections at the Maritime Museum and the wider maritime heritage of the city have been beautifully brought together in a new poetry 'chapbook'

Back in 2019, the Hull Maritime project was pleased to welcome Becca Drake as our official Poet in Residence.

As part of her PhD studies Medieval English Literature at the University of York, Becca spent time in Hull looking at the collections at the Maritime Museum and taking in the sites and sounds of the wider city.

Drawing inspiration for these experiences, Becca produced a series of beautiful poems that will now be available in libraries across the city.

The printing of the chapbooks was carried out by Thin Ice Press, the in-house printing studio in the Department of English and Related Literature at the University of York.

The press employs a number of vintage presses including the Golding Jobber No.6 that was used to print this chapbook! Click here for more information on Thin Ice Press and their work.
