Last weekend, the Hull: Yorkshire’s Maritime City project braved the inclement weather to attend the first Lord Mayor’s Hanse Day!

For the first year, the Lord Mayor's Parade event was hosted by Hull's International Hanse Day and celebrated the newest Lord Mayor of Hull alongside Hull’s historic connection to the Northern European Hanseatic League.

We immersed ourselves in medieval Hull and ran arts, crafts and learning activities for children from our shop on Whitefriargate. This included being able to get hands-on with objects from the museum collections! People who came to see us were also able to learn about how the project will transform the historic, maritime sites across the city, conserving the city’s heritage for generations to come.

The Lord Mayor and Hull's Gold Man even joined us for the festivities!

Over the summer, the Hull: Yorkshire’s Maritime City project will be at events across the city. These include Pride in Hull, Freedom Festival and much more! Further information about events we will be attending can be found here.
