Our community grant projects are all underway and doing some fantastic work exploring different parts of our maritime story.

One of our grantees, Hedon Viewfinders, are exploring the maritime history of Paull, gathering community stories and photographs about the shrimp fishing industry, boat building, lighthouses and maritime safety in Paull.

As part of their project, they organised a Maritime craft day at Paull Primary School, creating a display with the children focusing on a Paull shrimp boat, complete with net and shrimps.

Janet from Hedon Viewfinders said: “Our art session went really well, it was busy, hectic and great fun. All the children from five to 10 were engaged making different images of shrimps, to suit their ages and abilities. They were interested in learning about the Paull shrimpers, and the part they and the fishermen played in Paul's Maritime History.”

The artwork will be displayed at the school until the end of the school term.
