Queens Gardens is receving a transformation. Failing boundary walls, uneven paving and inaccessible ramps, ponds needs some TLC,  and trees coming to the end of their life where just a few of the things that needed improving with the much-loved green space. 

This investment will futureproof the gardens, ensuring it is a space for enjoyment, reflection and relaxation. 

Although the full completion of the gardens is expected in spring 2026, areas of the gardens and Rose Bowl will reopen when it's complete and safe to do so.

Rose Bowl area has be repaved and fountain has been restored
The qalls around the sectional areas have been repaired and repointed
New pabing, seating and boundary walls
Ponds have been cleaned, drained and restored
New ampthitheatre steps have been created
Maritime themed artwork has been etched on the steps
New seating has been installed and a new boundary wall has created
New steps and accessible ramps have been installed
New paving and cycle storage along Guildhall Road
New railings to replicate the old down
The kenneth Carter panels have been cleaned and restored
new rain gardens have been created to enourage wildlife and help with drainage
New planting with a change in colour has been added
New lighting to replicate cranes have been installed
Rain gardens will help with surface drainage
New paving and seating for everyone to enjoy
