Hull Maritime is looking to appoint a contractor to install new graphics, technology and displays on board the city’s much-loved Spurn Lightship.

The restoration of the lightship is now complete and the lightship is currently moored at a temporary berth on Hull Marina.

The new installations will include projections, film, immersive sound, and graphics.

Stories of the lightship and what it was like to navigate the treacherous estuary will be told as the ship becomes part of the city’s museums offer once again.

Gillian Osgerby, Project Director for Hull Maritime at Hull City Council, said: “By adding new displays and technology it means we can continue to tell the story of the lightship for all our visitors in many different ways.”

The Spurn Lightship is expected to reopen to visitors in spring 2025 at a new berth close to Holiday Inn and Murdoch’s Connection.

The closing date is 21 April and tender information is available here with ID 65882.
