While documentation work remains on hold for the time being, here’s a look back at objects which were documented before the current restrictions were put in place.
A.R.P. Bleach Ointment, 1943
This bleach ointment would have been part of a medical kit carried by A.R.P. Wardens in the Second World War. It was produced to be used for decontaminating exposed skin in the event of a gas attack.

Bryant and May’s Ship Lifeboat Matches, 1936
These matches are an example of a specialist product made by Bryant and May for the maritime industry. The cylindrical Bakelite container, with a rubber seal, was fully waterproof. This made the matches suitable for use in lifeboat emergency kits.
